I plead guilty of blog negect!!!

Sorry for the blog abandonment. Since the close of hunting season on January 6, we have moved to town, started the kids in public school, begun remodeling a house, and made one trip to the er. Things have been crazy busy and we don't have a computer set up in town yet. Actually we don't even have a phone yet. We are living in our fifth wheel while we "fix up/trash" the house. Things are moving along steadily. The boys are adjusting to school life slowly. Enjoying some parts and hating their loss of freedoms. It has been an exhausting time for all of us. I'll try and post some pictures soon. Thanks to all of you who were concerned that we had fallen off the face of the earth; we are still here, though this little town feels pretty close to the edge!

PS. Addison is ok, nothing life threatening. I'll post some pictures of his little bruised and swollen face and mangled mouth soon and we are awaiting more dr. visits to know the full extent of his injury. He and Asher were playing in the empty rock pond at our new house. They were running around and kicking the soccer ball in it. Addi tripped and smacked his teeth and on a rock. He came screaming to Daddy's arms and handed him a tooth. Blood was everywhere! Later my Dad found another tooth in the pond. The trip to the local er, left a lot to be desired and was an additional trauma to my little guy. Hopefully the other two teeth that are loose will not die and fall out as well. And we are hoping that no permanent damage or any facial fractures occurred. When the swelling and soreness subsides we will see the dentist. Please pray for him, he is having terrible nightmares and crying in his sleep. He is doing good though and laughing and smiling a crooked little smile. Poor little accident prone Addi!

Happy New Year!

We had a New Year's Party with our church. I had some fun playing around with the camera while the kids enjoyed their sparklers. Actually some of them were more smokey than sparkly, but the kids couldn't tell the difference.

This is my great niece, Josi....I love this picture because her Mommy is holding one side of her hand and her Grammie is holding the other, a sweet little generational moment. Plus she just has the cutest expressions!

Mesmerised....

a little fun with a slow shutter speed and a sparkly sparkler....

in awe of the fireworks...

Right at midnight we had a devotional...I can't think of a better way to start a new year. Happy New Year, everyone!

Christmas with Grandma and Grandad

This Christmas was really different for us. We usually go visit and spend Christmas with Robert's family. This year we had hunters and couldn't get away...so the family came to us. It was really neat for us to get to have everyone in our home. We appreciate it so much that they could make the trek to come see us. We felt very honored and enjoyed all the laughs and good times with each person who came. We were especially excited that Grandma and Grandad were able to come. What a special treat to have such special people here and get to share our world with them. We are so happy that their health has improved so much and they were feeling up to making the trip.

We love you and cherish every moment we get to spend together.

wii play

Regretfully, I don't have more pictures of Asher...but he is all over the place, constantly moving and either the pictures are out of focus or he isn't even in the picture or he's missing part of his head. I mean it...he is every where! We have to put a chair in front of him so he doesn't run into the tv. He really loves playing though!

Now, Addison, he takes this stuff seriously. He gives it all he's got. Addi usually doesn't care too much for playing video games, a few minutes and he is bored (just like his mother). He started out boxing and kept winning and kept winning...he boxed against several of the family (including his brother) and beat us all. Then he boxed against the game and went undefeated for quite some time. He was really enjoying all the winning. So he's hooked too!

Who's the wiinner?!?
We let the boys design their characters...Addi chose his name to be "Rocky".

Both us grown ups love playing too. The next day we both complain about how sore we are too! Pathetic, I know!

Asher and Honey

Honey....ask the boys why they call her Honey and they'll tell you

"cuz she's so sweet!"

Making Christmas Cookies

I love these cookies, they were so much fun to make and taste so yummy too! Addison was very meticulous and focused. Asher was more interested in playing the wii.

Ok, forget the cookies for a minute and take a look at those eyelashes....man alive....they are sooo long. Wowzers, they are gorgeous, wish I could get me some of them. Alright...back to business.

Addi worked on his creations for quite some time. Notice the special snake for Santa on the bottom left in the picture above. Fact is though, that snake looked pretty tasty and Addi just had to eat it himself. I'm sure Santa was disappointed.

Lots more Christmas pictures to come....

5, 4, 3, 2, 1, BLAST OFF....

Rockets away!!!

The boys got some rockets for Christmas and the whole family had a blast shooting them off. (yeah, I'm proud of that pun) They are amazing...they go up to 800 feet high, then float down by parachute. The boys took turns launching them and running to retrieve. Too much fun, I tell ya!

Aren't these pictures incredible...I can not believe how wonderful my camera is. I am in love :)

Robert enjoyed this every bit as much as the boys. How does that saying go??? You can't take the boy out of the man....something like that...doesn't sound quite right...you get the idea though.

Boys are out in the pasture searching for the rocket...the parachute would float so far and it was quite a hunt among the cactus and mesquites. I just love this picture for some reason...brothers walking side by side, having such a good time, helping each other out, matching strides, not so matching clothes...mmm, I just love it!

and this one too...daddy, boy, and dog...

A country Christmas

When I was growing up, we would go looking for a Christmas tree here on the ranch. So holding true to tradition, we headed out to the pasture in search of a cedar tree that resembled a pine tree. It was misty and cold...just perfect weather to get us in the winter mood.

It didn't take too long and we found the perfect tree! As Robert was chopping it down he discovered a hidden treasure....our tree had a bird nest in it. So like I said...perfect!

A little more difficult to decorate...but still fun.

just the daily stuff...

Just wanted to share some of the sunshine in my life. I get the pure joy of seeing this next look almost every morning. Addison wakes up, bundles in a blankie and lays by the fire as we discuss what he should have for breakfast. Oh so sweet. I usually sing him his song, You are my sunshine...and it is so true...he adds so much light to my day. How blessed am I to get this first thing in the morning!?!

I was practicing with my camera...shocking I know....and I was so fortunate to get this...

I love how he is concentrating so on his school work and I love the xmas tree lights in the background. So, nothing really exciting here...just the normal day to day stuff, but I tell ya, I feel like the most blessed mommy in the world. These boys are the best! They can turn the normal grind into a perfect moment just by the look in their eyes.

a few more from Thanksgiving...

Rylie and Delani...cousins, friends, silly girls!

I just love Rylie's hair and those big, brown eyes!

redneck girl...

Spunky girl...redneck and proud of it....Delani Jo

Don't my nieces have some precious girls!
